A Wedding

I woke up today,
To the bright shining sun,
To clouds in the sky,
And the swallows squawking at each others.

I woke up today,
To leaves on the ground,
Wet ground,
The transition of fall to winter.

I woke up today,
To the smell of lilies in my room,
Smiles on the face of my family,
A text message from you saying you love me.

I woke up today,
And I put on a white dress,
To the sound of cars rushing by,
And people stopping to see me.

I woke up today,
I went to church,
Walked down the aisle,
Faced the priest and held your hand.

I woke up today,
And danced into the night with you,
We made sweet love,
I feel asleep listening to you breathe.

I woke up today,
Single.

I go to sleep now,
Not.

Dreams

There is no better dream,
Than a dream of you.

Because with you in my dreams,
We are King and Queen,
We can do anything.

In my dreams of you an me,
We are one in mind,
Spirit,
Soul.
We cannot part.

You and me in my dreams,
We fly among the clouds,
We live in Suburbia,
With children we call our own.

My dreams,
They take us to places we have not seen,
They teach us things,
We cannot yet comprehend in our normal mind.

In my dreams,
We perceive the unreal,
And it impresses us.

Dreams,
A fickle-minded thing,
It plays with our thoughts,
What a thing dreams are.

Alas, dreams,
You toy with our emotions,
You play with feelings,
Disturb our very being to the very core.

But we thank you dreams,
To keep us company under the stars,
And guide our lives.

So I continue to dream of you and me,
Of our future in this world,
I will write my dreams in the sky,
And pass my dreams on to the world,
So they will know,
The story,
Of,
Us.
