As We Grow

As infants,

We love not much,

We suck on our thumbs,

Mothers milk is our haven.

As we become children,

Our love grows,

We love candies and toys,

We love television and cartoons,

Our love has evolved.

As we turn 12 or 13,

We face love in a different way,

We feel attracted,

We are vulnerable,

We give in to our feelings.

As teenagers,

Our love evolves once again,

It is more deep,

It is taking the risk,

It is challenging,

It is a battlefield in our minds.

Some give up,

Some give in,

Others take control of it.

As we mature,

As we become adults,

It is more realistic,

It is also divine,

We know what we want,

What we need,

What we must have.

So love evolves with us as we grow.

As we keep growing,

Aging,

Our love matures,

Whether with a loved one or not,

We now know what to do.

As we breathe our last breath,

We know that we have had love in our lives,

We know that we have loved,

We have been loved,

And love continues to be with us,

Eternally.

But what we fail to know,

Is that as humans,

As much as we grow,

We love each other the most.

Our parents,

Our siblings,

Our friends,

Our family.

Be it the wrong person to love,

Heck, be it the wrong sex,

As long as we know we can love,

We love as we grow,

Because we can,

And because its Gods greatest gift,

Love.
