Waiting.
From the moment we are born,
We are waiting.
We wait to be handed over to our mothers,
We wait for Christmas with the promises of new toys.
We wait for school to finish,
So we can run home to our pets and play.
We also wait,
To play.
We wait for our results,
To know if we have a bright future,
We sit waiting for the bus,
Waiting for food to come to the table.
We wait for things to happen,
Events to take place.
We wait to get older,
Life's supposed to be easier,
Freedom they say,
But it's not easier,
It's a lie.
We wait to get paychecks,
To spend it on worldly possessions,
Stuff that will hold no meaning later on in our lives.
We wait to get promoted,
So people would respect us even more.
We wait to hold more power,
So that power and freedom promised to us as little children,
Will finally be in our grasp.
We wait in the hospital room,
For good news or bad.
All our lives we are waiting,
Waiting for something.
The worst wait,
Is the wait for love.
The uncertainty of love kills us little by little,
Our souls die a little as we wait for love.
The wait for love,
Eats us up everyday,
It promises nothing in return.
Its a dirty game,
Love.
But still we wait,
And wait..
And wait..
And wait...
Waiting..
Waiting..
Waiting..
